I'm sick of this camping trip story. I took more notes, but don't want to bother retreiving them right now. I found a strange mushroom that has a white stalk with red streaks and rings of blue globes full of spores. They grew a foot tall and an inch in cirumfrence, and stood out like a paisley couch in a English Castle. I didn't want to disturb them, but I saw that somebody had knocked one over, so I took it home to save. It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, and I can't help but wonder if it's safe to touch.

I had a lot of time to stop and examine everything I saw, because I was constantly waiting for my "experienced camper" friends to catch up with me. As I stormed dowh the trail with ease, I contemplated gathering the correct supplies, and taking a solo journey through the wilderness for four or more days. However, now that I'm back, I don't know if I could last that long. It wasn't until this morning that I finally recovered from this weekend. Yesterday, every muscle from my lower back down ached. Today, my legs feel like they were carved from stone.

Thank you, everybody for the birthday wishes. I had a very successful birthday this year. I went through the entire day without mentioning it to anybody, and I received only two cards, one from my mom, and one from my sister. I hate making a big deal out of that day. I don't feel like celebreating anything. It depresses me to have too much attention focused on me. That's why I went to sleep extra early on the 2nd, and hiked into isolation the next day.

There was one cool thing that happened on my birthday. I was hanging out at the radio station, finishing up my required training time (this pretty much involved playing hour-long prerecorded shows while looking through the music library and scratching my ass) when somebody tells me that there was going to be a live performance in the studio. Jill Sobule came in and played a few songs with her cute little guitar. She also had cute little shoes on, and sung a song about the big orthopedic shoes she used to wear. You may know of Jill from that "I kissed a girl" video with Fabio that they used to play on mtv, which was a decent song, but I guarantee you, you cannot judge her by that song alone. She's got an amazing voice, and would but a smile on anybody's face the way she goes "boop boop boop boop" real high as the backup vocals kick in. And she's got the coolest songs: a song about going into a porn store, and seeing a girl she knew in high school on the cover of one of the videos. Then there's the unforgetable line, "I can crack all your ribs, but I can't break your heart." Yeah, Jill Sobule, you rock, thanks. My birthday rocked because of you, but I never told you that, I just said, "thanks, you're awesome."

And you responded with "did you see my sunglasses? I think I left my sunglasses over there?"

Nope, Jill, didn't see your sunglasses. I sure didn't see your sunglasses.
