I'll start with the conclusion:

I'm sitting in a body of water that is free of algea or pond scum. Last night, I camped in the wilderness, by a lake clearer than the water I'm sitting in now. 12 feet deep, and you could make out the imperfections in the wood at the bottom. I know I just started, but I'm exhausted. I'll tell you about it tomorrow.
